Snowbird exists to partner with the local church, and we love getting to work with student pastors who are faithfully preaching God’s Word. The Bible has the power to save lost souls and sanctify the hearts of Christians. Faithful, expository preaching will drive the listener to the Gospel every time.

It is vital that every preacher and teacher handles the Word of God with accuracy. We must communicate God’s original message and meaning from the text, and teach it in a way that is understandable by your people. Here is a list of books that have guided our approach to Gospel-driven teaching and ministry.

We hope you enjoy them!

By John Piper

“Remember this: there is no standing still in the Christian life. Either we are advancing toward salvation, or we are drifting away to destruction. Drifting is mortal danger.” – John Piper

Christ-Centered Preaching

By Bryan Chapell

Dangerous Calling

By Paul David Tripp

“You are most humble and gentle when you think that the person you are ministering to is more like you than unlike you. When you have inserted yourself into another category that tends to make you think you have arrived, it is very easy to be judgmental and impatient.” – Paul David Tripp

Lectures to My Students

By C.H. Spurgeon

Buy it on Amazon

“We ought to preach the gospel, not as our views at all, but as the mind of God–the testimony of Jehovah concerning His own Son, and in reference to salvation for lost men. If we had been entrusted with the making of the gospel, we might have altered it to suit the taste of this modest century, but never having been employed to originate the good news, but merely to repeat it, we dare not stir beyond the record. What we have been taught of God we teach. If we do not do this, we are not fit for our position.” – Charles H. Spurgeon

He is Not Silent

By Al Mohler

Buy it on Amazon

“We preach because our hearts are broken by the spiritual death and destruction all around us – and because we see the spark of hope in the question of our sovereign, life-giving God put to Ezekiel and now puts to us: ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ So we answer as he did, with simple faith and deep trust: ‘O Lord God, You know.’ ” – Al Mohler

Preaching and Preachers

By Martyn Lloyd Jones

Buy it on Amazon

“A man who imagines that because he has a head full of knowledge that he is sufficient for these things had better start learning again. ‘Who is sufficient for these things?’ What are you doing? You are not simply imparting information, you are dealing with souls, you are dealing with pilgrims on the way to eternity, you are dealing with matters not only of life and death in this world, but with eternal destiny.” – David Martyn Lloyd-Jones
