Why Snowbird Staff Members Raise Support
Why do staff members raise support instead of Snowbird raising it for them?
Snowbird works hard to provide salaries for our staff through our staff budget. This budget is reviewed and set by Snowbird’s Board of Directors, according to each role. However, most of our staff choose to raise funds from their circle of relations to supplement their regular salary. The Lord has been faithful to bring great people to make a Gospel impact through the mission of Snowbird, and this is an opportunity that enables them to be a part of the ministry.
How are salaries determined for each staff member?
Snowbird has adopted a salary plan that defines the criteria for setting compensation for our staff. The plan is reviewed on a regular basis by the Snowbird Board of Directors.
When should I start sending contributions to Snowbird?
All staff members must complete New Staff Orientation. Upon completion, they are eligible for Snowbird’s payroll. We encourage ministry partners to begin their giving to Snowbird as soon as they are able. Snowbird uses those contributions to help cover the salaries, ministry (business) expenses, and health benefits for our staff members.
How long am I expected to give to Snowbird?
Many ministry partners make a long-term prayer and financial commitment to Snowbird. That enables us to accomplish our mission of proclaiming Christ, building Gospel-driven relationships, partnering with churches across the Southeast, and equipping the body of Christ to go and make disciples. How long a partner gives to Snowbird is a decision between the ministry partner and the Lord. You can make a one-time donation or set up a monthly giving plan that is fully adjustable at any time.
Why do I need to make my check out to Snowbird?
Snowbird is a public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to Snowbird are tax-deductible.
Does Snowbird honor my preferences for my contributions to be used for the ministry of a staff member or another of Snowbird’s ministries?
We seek to honor the preferences of our ministry partners regarding how they would like their contributions used. All contributions raised by Snowbird staff are received with the understanding that Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters has complete discretion and control over the use of the donated funds. If, for any reason, we are unable to honor a ministry partner’s preference, we will direct the gift to another similar Snowbird ministry fund to carry out our mission.
