Steve Coleman
Co-founder
Steve “Kahuna” Coleman was a member of Snowbird’s founding team and worked in student ministry for nearly 30 years. In the 1980s, Kahuna and his wife, Billie Fay, served in youth ministry at First Baptist Church in Woodstock, G.A. He followed his time there as a corporate chaplain. After six years, he and Billie Fay uprooted their lives and relocated to Andrews, North Carolina, to bring their vision of Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters to life. In 1997, the first group of students rolled onto the Snowbird property.
On Monday, August 22, 2022, Steve Coleman, went to be with the Lord. Steve, better known to the Snowbird family as, “The Big Kahuna,” was a man used by God to start a ministry that has now affected unknown thousands of people for the past 2 and a half decades. In light of his passing into the presence of our Savior, we wanted to take some time to celebrate his life and legacy.
The Big Kahuna was a larger-than-life personality with a contagious love for God and His Word. Please follow the link below to watch a video update from Brody and get the latest info on the public memorial service for the Big Kahuna.
