At The Feet Of Jesus
2026 Fall Retreats Bible Study

This year at our Fall Retreats we are going to be looking at episodes in the Gospels where people fall down at Jesus’ feet. These people are from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences, but they all end up in the same position, prostrate before Jesus. Some of them were healed of physical ailments, some of them had demons that were cast out. Some of them are leaders, and some of them are beggars. The only similarity between all these stories is Jesus (his presence) and their response to him (humility).
So, why spend a whole weekend looking at people bowing at the feet of Jesus? Because that should be the position of our hearts before him. Our goal is to learn from these stories in the Gospels and respond like those people. When we read these stories we should come to realize that we aren’t very different from the people Jesus interacted with. We were sick and Jesus healed us; we were poor and he blessed us; we were dead and he made us alive!
Bowing at someone’s feet seems like a radical act, but the call of Jesus is a radical call and the life we have in Christ is a radical life. So, as we read these stories of encounters with Jesus, let’s be open and ready to worship him as he deserves to be worshiped.
In these three short studies we are going to look at who Jesus is, who we are, and how we should respond to him. Then, when you show up to our Fall Retreat this October we will look at some of the specific stories of people bowing at Jesus’ feet.
