Future Hope
Spencer Davis | 1 Corinthians
If there is no Heaven, no Resurrection from the dead for us, no other life- then we should not sign up for Christianity. That would be foolish because being a believer is hard. If you are living out the Christian life correctly, there will be pain, suffering, and hardships.
When we look at 1 Corinthians 15, Paul is saying that it is not worth it if there is no future hope and no Resurrection. The hope of the Resurrection freed Paul from living what the world values because he had the hope of greater pleasure. Christ’s Resurrection makes this life possible, and our eventual resurrection makes the sufferings of this life worth it.
We rejoice and are able to have joy in this life but it solely stems from the hope that we have in Christ.
