What makes the Great Commission so vital for the life of a Christian and the local church? Just before Jesus ascended into Heaven He told us to “make disciples.” This is the final command and sums up the mission of the Church. It will be costly and the work will be hard; however, we’re given numerous New Testament examples to lead the way. Ultimately, discipleship is following Jesus in every facet of life. Making disciples involves challenging others, in the context of community and accountability, to live out what it means to be like Jesus.
