An Athlete’s Identity Crisis and Unexpected Pregnancy | Gwyn Andrews (Parts 1-2)

Part 1

Growing up as a pastor’s kid and a standout athlete gave Gwyn Andrews a strong sense of identity…or at least it seemed that way. But once she left for college, the structure she’d relied on fell away, creating space for secrecy, fear, and choices she never imagined facing, including sexual compromise and the consideration of abortion.

We talk candidly about the gap between cultural Christianity and genuine discipleship, the isolation that drives hidden decisions, and how easy it is to drift into serious territory without anyone noticing. Everything shifted for Gwyn when a stranger spoke a truth no one else had dared to say, confronting Gwyn’s assumptions and pushing her to reexamine responsibility, identity, and the path she was on.

This conversation is honest, grounded, and shaped by grace. It’s about being interrupted by truth, choosing integrity over image, and discovering conviction when the stakes are high.

Part 2

In this Part 2 episode, Gwyn picks up right where she left off—right after whispering to her teammate, “I’m pregnant.” She shares candidly about the fear, shock, and sense that her life was beginning to unravel.

We follow Gwyn through her hidden months at home and the way Scripture, research, and a refusal to take easy answers slowly shaped her path toward open adoption. She opens up about the doubts and questions that surfaced as her due date approached and the weight of the decisions she had to make.

Now, watching her daughter flourish, Gwyn steps into advocacy with conviction and grace. This episode offers an honest, hope-filled look at unplanned pregnancy, the reality of open adoption, and the courage it takes to choose a future bigger than fear.
