Don’t be tempted to excel in the academic world to the extent that you are willing to compromise the Truth.
You may not be prepared for the onslaught of ideas that this world is going to place in front of you as truth. You will have professors who will find out that you are a Christian and will most likely believe that you are naive, simple and unscientific. They might even say it in front of your class of your peers that you would rather impress. We are in a battle for ideas. We cannot allow our minds to become sitting ducks for the enemy. You are going to have to navigate your university in such a way that you can give answers that you are supposed to without shipwrecking your faith.
Challenge yourself to know what you believe and why you believe it.
We are in a battle for souls, a fundamental battle for ideas. Study and be prepared to answer the questions that are confronting us. Prepare yourself to be a faithful witness. Learn how to love the Lord with all of your heart and mind. Then, be ready to preach the Gospel — because this what saves.
The Gospel is not just good news, it’s the best news anyone could ever hear. Mere men could never dream up such a grand miracle. Man could never invent the idea that God would become a man, take our sin upon Himself and exchange His righteousness for our wickedness.
Keep these truths in the forefront of your mind, and search the Truth when you come upon difficult questions.
