The Discipline of the Lord

When we think of discipline, we are quick to think of punishment. Sometimes God uses correction to change the behavior of His children, but the idea of discipline is so much bigger than that. Discipline is not for revenge or humiliation. Nor is it intended to cause frustration or discouragement. Instead, discipline is for the restoration of the relationship. God disciplines us out of love and delight. Ultimately, God wants me to be more like Jesus. This will bring me joy and purpose.
