Finding Hope in the Chaos | Tailgate Theology

In this episode, Brody tackles some pressing issues of our time–elections, wars, and natural disasters that may leave us feeling hopeless.

Using Mark 13, Brody reminds us that our hope does not lie in politicians or governments, but in King Jesus. Through the storms we face, the Lord is with us, preparing a greater kingdom for those who endure to the end.

Tune in for a message that encourages us to remain vigilant and active in our faith through the chaos this world brings.

Time Stamps:

11:39-11:53 – Use discretion when listening to pastors, everything should come from scripture

12:26-12:3 – Study the Bible, ask the Lord to illuminate his word in your mind and heart, you’ll be fed spiritually, you can trust God’s word.

17:53-18:12 – Nothing takes Jesus off guard, He’s never panicked. He feels the sorrow of human history, that’s what drove him to the cross to give us a way out.

23:41-23:56 – We serve God not institutions, what to look for in a candidate

31:49-32:32 – As Christians, we can hold fast to the authority and sufficiency of scripture. All scripture is breathed out by God. False teachers

38:07-38:19 – The world seems hopeless, there is coming a government that is held up on the shoulders of King Jesus.

43:45-44:22 – Don’t lose hope, the Holy Spirit is going to be with you, you’re gonna go through hard times but He’s not gonna forsake you. He’s with us no matter what

43:52-44:30 – The Lord is with us in the storm, flooding, election, economy, He’s with us no matter what and preparing us for a greater kingdom. That’s what we can rest and rely on.

44:45-44:56 – Promise the Holy Spirit is going to be with you and you will endure to the end. You will be hated because you are a follower of Jesus. The one who endures to the end will be saved.

47:18-47:55

  • Our hope is not in this world/in this government, Its gonna get worse
  • Jesus is telling us that it is okay, his spirit is with us and he has a plan
  • Our job is to endure, Jesus says its worth enduring

48:10 – Our hope is not in these candidates, our hope has got to be King Jesus.

50:01-50:08 – Don’t sleep! If were alive when he returns, lets be found working and laboring and advancing the Gospel. Our hope must lie in this.
