Easter weekend is going to look a little different for all of us this weekend. There won’t be many easter egg hunts or sunrise services, but we will still celebrate the Resurrection of our King. Don’t throw in the towel simply because our cultural habits and structure aren’t guiding you.

Walk through this Holy Week with continual joy and focus on the glory of Christ’s resurrection. This is the central event of the Gospel story!

God became man to be one of us. He then lived a sinless life and offered Himself up for death and humiliation on the Cross, and rose back to life on the third day (just as He promised). The truthfulness of the Gospel hinges on the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. The apostle Paul made it crystal clear in 1 Corinthians 15 that if the resurrection of Jesus Christ didn’t take place, our faith is empty and we will die in our sins. This week is a celebration of the greatest act of love that humanity has ever known!

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?’ She said to him, ‘Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.’” (John 11:25–27)

We are praying the Lord renews your faith, hope, and peace as you spend time with Him this week. Here are a few resources on the Resurrection that our teachers and staff have prepared:

What Does the Bible Say About Jesus?

  • What we believe about who Jesus is, and what He did, defines everything about us. The doctrines of the humanity, deity, and resurrection of Christ separate the Christian faith from all others. This blog discusses seven key differences between the Christian and Islam beliefs about Jesus.
