Be Strong: Physical Disciplines
Dallas Bozeman : Physical Disciplines: Be Strong
If God created man from the dust and formed him into His image, then our bodies can’t be inconsequential. All things were created through Him and for Him, therefore, we have been created by Christ to glorify Him in our bodies.
Many people eat excessively to mask fear, stress, and frustration! Weight-gain is just the by-product of a deeper issue. The reason most diets don’t work is that they’re treating the symptoms of the problem, not the heart that is driving the indulgence. If we truly desire to be free in Christ, we have to allow the Spirit to change the way we think and feel about food, sleep, and exercise.
In this breakout, we’ll explore the importance of our holistic creation. It should burden Christians if they have Gospel opportunities to bind up the broken and tangibly serve them, but find our bodies in such poor condition we can’t fulfill the call. We preach that Christ is fully satisfying, but if we live satisfied by the things of this world, we’re missing the Christ-exalting purpose of physical discipline.
