God will remain faithful because His faithfulness doesn’t depend on our faithfulness. God forgives, but sin still affects our lives while on earth. There are consequences. Unbelieving men often attempt to self-medicate themselves with material possessions or activity because they can’t make sense of the evil in this world, but the biblical man seeks peace and comfort in the Word of God.
