Trauma Ministry in a Refugee Camp | No Sanity Stories
part 1
The Lord doesn’t waste anything. He uses the trauma and hardships of life to draw you closer to Himself. In this episode, Brody sits down with his daughter, Kilby Helms, to talk about the trauma healing ministry she serves at in Uganda. Kilby shares the importance of that work and what it practically looks like. Trauma healing is not fast, or clean, or easy. But however hard the work is, it is worth it for the beauty of seeing women receive healing and hope in the Lord.

part 2
In this podcast, Kilby shares specific stories from women that she’s worked with at the safe house. Their stories are full of fear, trauma, and abuse. Kilby speaks of the power of presence in those moments. We’re called to weep with those who weep. Strive to be present in a way that brings peace and comfort to those who are hurting.
There is a type of freedom that comes from sharing your story. Kilby shares how they use stories from the Bible to point these women to the Lord as they are healing. In Christ alone, there is hope and purpose.
In the previous episode of NSR, Kilby explained what trauma healing looks like in the refugee camp she serves at in Africa.
